The Journey

Amanda Gloria Valdes is a 500+HR Registered Yoga Teacher and Founder of AV STUDIOS. She has been guiding communities for the past 12 years through Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Teacher Training, Curation/Leadership Workshops, and most currently Doula work. Amanda’s traditional doula work is supported by the teachings from her ancestors of the African & Latin diaspora along with Chinese Medicine.

Her offerings span from Ayurveda, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mediation, Teacher Training, and Digital Wellness Content. She currently holds space at Y7 Studio, Melissa Wood Health, New York University, Heal Haus, and Brooklyn Flow.

She spends her time teaching virtual yoga/meditation, virtual/in-person doula services, and creating teacher training programs.  Her most recent community work involved piloting wellness programs including; Rainbow Warriors with SCO (Yoga Program centering LGTBQIA+  Brooklyn Youth), Theater  Residencies for Literacy with City University Creative Arts Team, to most recently supporting the NYU Global Spiritual Department with a Yoga program called  Stay Woke and Move centering the BIPOC NYU students and staff. She was also named “Changemaker” by Yoga Journal Italia for intersectional work in Yoga and the Community within Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Amanda’s mission continues to catalyze change by building strong communities through arts, yoga, and accessible wellness services for folx nationwide.
